No this is not a fetish link. Having read the gritstone slab posting i thought I'd post this as it's something I have been thinking about for a while. I don't know about everyone else but the biggest problem I have these days with climbing in mid summer is the rubber on my boots. When it gets very hot the rubber tends to roll and distort way too much so it becomes virtually impossible to stand on the smaller holds. Now this didn't used to be an issue pre sticky rubber and whilst you couldn't do the very hardest routes you could quite comfortably climb in the heat and of course the harder rubber improved the hotter it became. I've spoken to my boot supplier Red Chilli and they don't do hard rubber boots at all, so any ideas out there, anybody with the same thoughts or indeed solutions?
