am I just being dense... very possible.

Are you becoming critical of almost everything and everyone?

Yes, but that's nothing to do with Leroy but possibly why I enjoy his company.

Bit of feedback: After a few initial uses seems pretty good. One logistical point: It would be cool if it was in a plastic pot rather than the chunky glass type supplied (less chance of breakage when traveling). I guess it would be cheaper for you to send out too.

Cheers Greg, I think people have been surprised at how different it is to Climb On. And how well it seams to work.

So far I like the fact it makes your hands smell like mulled wine. Very festive.

Seems pretty good to me. I haven't climbed this week (pulled muscle in back) but I've been using it nonetheless (instead of dream cream that I normally use daily). Usually after a week off my skin would have started peeling but it's in perfect nick.  :)

I also like the way it absorbs into your skin far quicker then Climb On. Although in my view it smells too appetizing, I keep wanting to eat it.   ;)

Lets face it, Climb on doesn't absorb into your skin at all. You just spend hours spreading it thinner and thinner, then you try to wash it off but its waterproofed your hands, so then you take you contact lenses out and discover they are perfect for removing it and you spend the folllowing day squinting through beeswax before throwing them away. Wank.

Do you always wank after throwing your contact lenses away ? ...... Maybe a bit too much of draining the old love pump is what caused your necessity to wear them in the first place ....

Some  feed back from one of the lucky ones to get a FREE pot.

"Thought I’d drop you a line now that I’ve been using the hand cream for a week or so. I have used the cream every day without fail and have to say I am certain that my overall skin quality has improved a lot. I don’t really suffer with dry cracked skin, however, I do suffer with my skin peeling once it becomes too thick, especially if training indoors. The cream seems to have stopped the peeling from occurring and in general my skin feels more supple and thicker, so I will continue to use it and contact you again in a month or so when I have been using it for a bit longer."

I've been using one of the freebies for just over a week too and like others am pleased with the results.  Its reduced the constant layers of skin peeling away from my hands that I seem to suffer from (despite religious washing of chalk from hands after climbing and wearing marigolds when doing the washing up).  As others have mentioned it absorbs into the hands fairly quicker and doesn't leave any residue.  I've also found that it helps the nicks and small scratches on the backs of my hands from (poor) jamming heal a lot quicker. It smells great too, vaguely reminiscent of tiger balm but not as strong.

The wife keeps on nicking it too so it gets the  from her too.

All in all a great product and I shall be ordering more when this runs out (although I think Greg made a good point about an alternative container).

Cheers Francis  :great:

Well, can't fault the service! Got product 16 hours after order was placed!

First thoughts.
As mentioned before, glass container might cause problems when travelling.
The size of pot might make access to bottom tricky once its getting empty.
Smells great.
Love the retro label!

As for how good it is, i'll let you know!

I was lucky enough to get a freebie too, thanks Francis, which arrived well packaged the very next day. Been using it consistently ever since to the exclusion of anything else and it's the best handcream that I've tried; that's to say, better than ClimbOn, Vaseline Intensive & any number of others. I do batter my hands a fair bit, especially on the pads when bouldering so anything that can help protract the life of my skin is a bonus.

It absorbs quickly and completely, leaving your hands smelling good enough to eat (though this might be a problem for inveterate nail-biters). I've had far less problems with skin despite some heavy bouldering, two warm and humid indoor sessions and filling every available gap with trad on god's own rock. Will be getting more UK based action in over the next few weeks before heading over to California for the summer, hopefully the pot will last until I get back  :)

In a nutshell, get a pot.

I've had my tub over a week but that amount of time is not long enough to really evaluate something like this - I would not be able to pin down any improvments to the product rather than other factors or placebo. So to that effect, I'll let you all know in good time. Plus since its limestone season at the moment its pretty easy on skin compared to grit or font, so not a very demanding test. crunch time is october!

Hopefully the balm should be available in larger 50ml pots made out of plastic within a couple of weeks.

Plastic pots are now available in 50ml at £9.99. Which means you get more balm for your hard earned! ;D
And it's more cost effective to post out

Cool, will definitely get some when my J Tree stuff runs out. It's only lasted 5 years.

Some more considered feedback: I've continued using Francis' concoction and my skin's never been better. Much less in the way of flaky or cracking problems whilst pads and callusses feel more supple and less likely to tear and split.

Just ordered a refill in the larger plastic tub - £12.99 now.

I'm nearly at the end of my freebie sample tub, and although its hard to really say unless I climb symetrical problems and use another product on one hand to compare, I would say this stuff is good, I've generally had quite good skin since using it. Unlike Climb-on it won't give you leathery flapper-prone skin with daily use, and its not greasy and seems to absorb fast, plus i like the smell.

Landed on my feet as an assistant buyer and web page author for facewest.co.uk . Lots of new climbing brands coming on line in the Spring.

Things are panning out pretty cool. Hours are good and I'll have more time to climb.
