http://www.peeruk.org/projects/franklandboulder/jfranklandboulder1.html

Frankland intends that people should engage with the boulders in a direct and physical way through rock climbing, or ‘bouldering’. A keen and expereinced climber himself, Frankland considers physical contact with the rock as a way of energising or activating the work, as well as a way of playfully debunking the notion of those sculptures in park settings, which are often fenced off or prominently labelled as ‘not to be touched’.

mind: that's not a sequence, they are just different tries of the moves. i still don't know how to do the second move, the one to get the right hand crimp.

I hate it when it's too hot in winter.

Nice pics Nibile, that arete looks great, and the 8a+ looks tres powerful, does it traverse along under the roof following the reasonably sized tick marks?  Have you ticked it yet?

yes, you bear hug it as long as you can!!! i haven't done it (yet) and i really don't know whether i'm capable, because i am fully stretched out in those moves and i still have to manage one move. then you have to hold the big swing out when you let go of your left heel. i've tried it only twice in many years because it's been put up by a friend of mine who's alot taller than me and this really put me off. i don't know, i want to do it but i don't want it to steal time from other projects that suit me more.
on the outside lip there's a really beautiful traverse along very sharp holds with another nice swing. the area is small but it's mean!!!

A cool bouldering shot from Derek Thathcer (loads on his flickr stream, including some that have already graced these pages)....

Looks like someone's a Micheal Keaton fan  ;)

Another of the same problem looking the other way...

Where is that Ossezia thing? Is it as amazing as it looks? Is it as good as (say) Supernova?

it is close to where i live, near the top of mount amiata, this small mountain south of siena. it's amazing, sadly morpho, i'm 173 cm tall and seriously doubt someone shorter could even hold some of the holds: where it's widest my nose is 5 cm from the roof.
it's an amazing line, not even remotely comparable to supernova: the rock is so rough it wouldn't become as slick as supernova in a million years of pulling. plus, it's alot harder.
c'mon you know you like it, just come south there's so much more.

i know albarracin is mean to be dead good dave.  Its just that the photo resemble that gaskins traverse thingy that gets so high at the end that he er... steps off.

luckily that guy in the photo is probaby about 8ft off the deck there, trust me its a strong line, its actually a rising traverse, not that its clear from that angle.

Jim.

Granted he knows nothing about punctuation. Otherwise he would have capped up the guidebook title, thereby ensuring people who are skim reading his posts because they're keeping half an eye on their Basil Fawlty 'Comedy' TomTom Voice downloads don't misunderstand him and think he's on about a rock type.

You fucking dullard.
