Just seen on Ch 4 news that the UK Health Protection Agency is advising people that if they are bitten by a dog in Seine-et-Marne region then they should get checked out for rabies.

The risk to UK travellers is considered low; nonetheless we are advising anyone who has had significant contact with dogs such as having been bitten, scratched or licked around the eyes, mouth or on an open wound, during a stay in the affected French regions, to seek prompt medical advice. Prompt post exposure treatment following a bite is effective in preventing rabies.

Doesn't sound too serious, but makes you think...

Mind you, if anyone is going to be the first human victim of this outbreak of rabies it is likely to be me  so the rest of you are safe

I wonder if Stef will get that Dad's Army reference?  I like the thought that it was a well watched series in France, but I doubt it somehow.

concerning rabies, if the weather and my climbing don't seriously improve, i could easily bite someone('s head off)...

excellent ! I could get this one, but not the dad's army one. I heard about this serie, but it has never been on french tv as we get only translated programs, and this humour wouldn't sound the same once translated.
It is very much the same with our comedy movies that just cannot be translated.
The french system has some limits ???!!! ahahah!!!!

For the children care, I very much agree though, as many climbers, locals and non locals, having dogs, just let them go around without any supervision, whereas we all know Font is very much a family place.


Ah well, behaviour....
