Faults, nay, you need to be thinking more laterally, we're not on plate boundaries after all.

My money is on Isostatic Readjustment as a result of the retreat of the glaciers or from sediment build up in the North Sea, or a bit of both. 8)

What do they reckon happened in the craton? Faulting around the edge?
Yep - most likely reactivation of existing faults related to stress differences between the craton and the surrounding paleozoic/mesozoic etc stuff - linked to MAR and/or thinning of North sea basin.

Oooh- is the failed rift going to reactivate?

What's Malham then? The Mid-Craven not-a-fault line?

Yeah, I know, but it's on the mid-craven fault line.

Over the course of geological time? Quite likely I'd have thought........

At 5.25pm today the tremors many of you in Sheffield may have felt were not due to an earthquake. It was just me bouncing my mass around the streets of Sheffield in preparation for this year's half marathon.

So that was the reason the glass containing my 5th pint of Sheaf Extra Strong Special Ale emptied half of it's contents on the floor tonight then... :alky:
