I'm changing the way it's laid out to a similar method to that on Yorkshiregrit.com (although not quite as slick  :-[ ) Eventually all the crags will look like this...

http://www.lakesbloc.co.uk/16.html

So far I've done quite a few of the main crags: Bowderstone, Kentmere, Woodwell, Thorn, Trowbarrow and few smaller areas. Next up I'll do Carrock and St.Bees. Unfortunately I'm limited by time.

I've also updated the Langstrath guide - http://www.lakesbloc.co.uk/35.html (Kentmere topo is next on the to-do list).

cheers greg,

dont suppose you'll have an overview map anymore then?

i found it quite handy - for example I'll be up on Fairfield at the weekend and it'd be good to see at a glance if theres any bouldering to detour to, other than the dove crag danger highballs

When I get time I'll edit the descriptions (i.e. when you click the balloons) on the overview map so they offer a mark out of five regarding the quality/extensiveness of the crag.

I have added a number of crags that were not on the old list/map. A wad point for anyone who can find the location of the "Birkett's Outdoor Gym"...

Only if Dave Buchanan promises NOT to fight my corner if it's crap.  ;)

Seriously though, I'd love to do one (I do actually have number of sections completed), but I realize now that to do it at my pace and how I'd want I would have to produce it entirely under my own steam. Currently however I'm not in a position where I could afford to finance A) a new computer B) all the required software and C) the publication costs, and I'm certainly not getting a loan to produce an esoteric bouldering guide.

Mind you if I do get round to doing a guide I'll be sure to get the "Deep Thought" computer featured in The Hitchhikers Guide to proofread it.  ;)

Nice work - when do these blocs come into condition Greg? Would I get away with a visit at this time of year? I reckon you really should produce a guidebook - the quality work you've done already just needs icing to make a fine cake!

In my view this is the best time of the year - cold conditions, no bracken, good ventilation to the blocks. It does, however, help if it has been dry for a couple of days before your visit.
