So, what your favourite album of the year?

I am going to go for The Parallax II: Future Sequence by Between the Buried and Me. They are consistently brilliant with more music in one album than a lot of good bands manage in their career.

Second place goes to The Safety Fire with their first album Grind the Ocean. This is the first UK band I have heard in years that have really grabbed my attention.  It’s a short but flawless album with lots of variation; each song doesn’t necessarily work perfectly on its own but as an album it is addictive.

Napalm Death playing at the V&A Museum 2013/03/22

Having seen Barney and crew live several times, I can thoroughly recommend their gigs.

I'm sure you longhairs know all about it this already, but it's the first album I've bought that had a Kerrang recommendation on the cover since about 1986. As mentioned in Julian Cope's Copendium.
