God forbid should you suggest that this had been perhaps slightly overplayed and perhaps we should enjoy something else. "its only been on once". yeah like fuck, so they recorded a 5-hour CD with White Christmas on it several times as every 24th track?

xmas is a waste of time effort and energy.  Its such a contradiction, its meant to be a relaxing time, but ends up being the most stressful.  Having just got the parental visit out of the way last weekend I can now relax and enjoy getting pissed all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (although if the weathers good I'll be catching a few hours bouldering on t'grit before starting  ).

Yeah it was originally the winter solstice that was celebrated. I.e. the fact that the shortest day is gone and the evenings start getting lighter. Good reason to celebrate in my book.
