Due to a *cough* slightly over zealous order for bling for my XC bike I'm currently sprucing up my '07 SX for sale

Build is stock, but with new rear wheel (handmade)

just  a heads up if anyone's  interested.

It's a small (up to 5 ft 10 ish...). I have proof of purchase etc....

I'll formally get it some pics up and it on the for sale board later this week.

new cost me £2k, wheel £200.. for sale at £1250 ono..

Great helmet cam of a fast run down the evil Fort William DH track.

Glad to see you are returning to the original topic of this thread, although I wouldn't have thought your missus would be up for that yet?

Ahem, moving swiftly on.....

Rode Cavedale for the first time this year on Saturday, such a good descent despite the nettles and the wet parts. I was also able to enjoy that smug feeling as I rode down past a couple carrying their bikes down, and got photographed by a couple of Japanese tourists. Luckily I didn't come a cropper in front of them.

Riding up Pindale and Dirtlow Rake wasn't quite so pleasurable.

Also managed to get embroiled in Bradwell Carnival which felt a bit like a cross between Mardi Gras and The Wicker Man....

That's disgraceful Nic

Nice piccy indeed Chris - shame Howies aren't doing a comp atm.

Fetteresso forest, near stonehaven. Loads of unofficial trails around the place, from technical single track to some big drops, log rides, see saws etc. Committed to a steep descent into a stream last night that I have usually bottled in the past, citing shitty V Brakes as an excuse. Loving new bike, pity need to get lights sorted!

I can't take credit for pic, it was my mate dave again (see pg 4), he gets pics publshed in mags occasionally, and is off to FW this weekend armed with ropes and jumars for getting into trees and aiming to get some pics to sell. Says bike mags pay a lot better than climbing mags.

For those of you who have ridden the North Shore at Mabie, is it covered in chicken wire (and thus ridable in the wet) or is it a no go if it is wet? I'm thinking of a quick visit up there soon, as it looks ace. Need to reassemble my hardtail first though...

No chicken wire when I was last there a couple of years ago. Probably because 2km of chicken wire would be quite pricey!

Its brilliant though, well recomended if its dry.

It would be a nightmare in the wet, it's hard enough when dry! No chicken wire earlier this year.

:agree:

there is a limit on what one will pay for when it comes to denim

Howies stuff is fucking lovely though and you can easily spend much more than that on denim elsewhere. It's not cheap but it is very well made.

People often accuse them of selling out - interesting article on that here..

Anyway, I can't afford their shit at the moment so it's all academic :)

I'll wait until I get a dry forecast then. Is there anywhere close to it with more freeridey/downhill stuff if i were to take my DH bike up as well? The idea being that i could do a day of each.

Book an uplift day at Innerleithen then do Mabie the day after if you're in any fit state :)

All the Dumfries area centres are pretty close together, check the individual info to see what's available.

Cheers Chris.

Anyone been to the Glentress freeride park?
If so, is it any good? More suited to a DH bike or hardtail?

I feel a trip coming on in the next week or so.
