World of Warcraft 70 account
November 01, 2007, 10:48:48 am

Yeah I know this is more than a little offbeat for this forum but there we go :)

Need to get this game out of my life.

- Level 70 Alliance Rogue with mixture of T3.5 / T4 level gear, flying mount, 1500 gold, fully skilled up, good weapons/enchants and pretty good pvp kit as well.
  - comes with lvl 40 Horde Warlock on a different server

PM me for full details.

Looking for £200 minimum.

Excuse my complete ignorance but how do you manage to sell computer game characters? Is there money to be made in just playing the game?

I knew a guy who supported himself through uni doing this but never asked how.

Sounds fucking mad doesn't it. There was some bird who made $1m or something in a virtual world thing. Let me have a look as you can tell I'm not very well informed on this.................

You're not really allowed to sell WoW accounts, but it happens all the time. Theres no money to be made in game as such with WoW, but people are paying you for your time.

It takes a lot of time and effort to reach level 70 ("the end game") and to get some reasonable gear for your character. This is really when the game becomes most interesting as you can start to run the harder dungeons (instances) and enter arena PvP (player vs player) combat.
Lots of people can't be arsed with the quite frankly fucking boring grinding to level 70 and so will pay for an "off the shelf" character with which they can start the game at a high level straight away.

A character with really high level gear that can only be got in the hardest instances will fetch serious money but then completing the hardest instances is only done by handfuls of people worldwide.

You can make money in Second Life by renting property from the game owners, building on it, then sub-letting that out to other gamers.
I had a quick go with Second Life but found it fucking shite so could never be bothered with it at all.

I don't know where anyone finds the time...........which is why you're getting rid. Makes sense that the time people have put in is worth money.

Yeah, I play a lot of video games anyway (but i don't watch any TV) but the amount of time you need to put in to get (and stay) good in WoW is ridiculous. Also, see this

That's fucking sick.

It often amazes me that anyone has enough time for gaming because the games are just so good / big now. When I shared a house with a couple of mates a few years ago the lowly PS2 took up days of our time. Now spare time like that is a distant memory anyway but the way that games have advanced I can't imagine how anyone has the time. Perhaps it's just because I got really obsessed with games and could easily spend 8 hours straight on Manhunt or Max Payne or Pro Evo Soccer but I can't imagine that you'd get very far on some of the latest games by just playing for an hour or two at a time.

Too true. For me it was rainy days playing 4 player Goldeneye on the N64. Many friendships made/lost that way.

Bubba I am almost tempted you give you a +ve wad point for being that nerdy

(I have a fairly chunky Guild Wars character I could try to sell but it's probably nothing compared to the dedicated farmers and all....)

The geekiness of WoW was a bit offputting really - i was in a guild where everyone had dropped all their real life friends and only socialised in game or out of game meetups with other guild members. Eeek.
