Errrr since Paul suggested it:

(feel free to copy'n'paste to the DFBWGC thread of course)

I used Paul B's Halloween effort as inspiration for my New Years Eve fancy dress effort. Out of shot are ripped demin shorts (about 2 sizes too small) and green tights. Unfortunately I forgot to 'flex' for a photo.

That would be cool to make, then blow up on video.  First one to post a slo-mo exploding DeathStar Pumpkin gets a wad.

Okay, t'was a bit lame searching YouTube  :-[

I'll step up to the challenge though, and will grow my own pumpkin, carve a death star and blow it up with a BIG firework.

BIG FIREWORK, in the dark, ideally with the pumpkin illuminated from the inside before the explosion!!  :bounce:

I think filling it with a flammable liquid and igniting that would be a lot more impressive. Or filling it with petrol, allowing it to soak in, then fireworking it.

Tried the firework bizzle in Y2K07. Average pumpkin, put a bit banger in, fizzed, sparked, exploded, pumpkin slightly singed. Put remaining 3 bangers in all together, fizzed, sparked, banged, lid of pumpkin fell off slightly blackened. Need more explosives fo sho.

Right, it's that time of the year again and as the missus nephew and niece are coming to ours for a Halloween party this weekend, I'm keen for some pumpkin action. As UKB seems to produce some pretty fly results in the past, any hints and tips?

Should I go for a template?

I have a PDF copy of a book of templates I can email if anyone wants a copy?  Some of the designs are quite good.

Here is this years effort. It's pretty much a variation on last years attempt which still needs some tweaking and fine carving to finish off but I thought a few piccies might inspire increased productivity from the UKB massive.
Anyway the pictures:

I don't have any tea-lights to show it lit up yet as I'm at the in-laws and they don't appear to have any, I'll sort some tomorrow. The turnip carving is not just a random vegetable hacking, the in-laws live on the Isle of Man and instead of Halloween they have Hoptunay (sp?) which is basically Halloween for cheapskate island dwellers where you carve a turnip instead of a pumpkin. Obviously this glaring opportunity to mock the in-laws heritage was far too tempting to miss. Pumpkins rool, turnips suk.

GCW what has an evening of cheap lager produced this year? I'm guessing PaulB won't be offering anything this time round but surely some of the recent fathers could step into the breach?
