Ninja Warrior.
October 15, 2007, 08:46:37 pm
Anyone seen this Japanese show with its spanked up Krypton Factor assault course?

Legend is its only been completed once!

Competitors actually build courses to train on, similar to replicating Hubble!

(Currently showing on Challenge tv around 6 in the eve).

Yeah, I've seen this before.  Very impressive indeed: a few of these obstacles are way harder than they look.  I'd love a crack at this course.

some of them are actually machines.
did you watch the olympic special one?
only athletes were in it and it was alot harder.  if i recall this greek dude had biceps that stacked up like a dozen eggs.
impressive most of it!

Totally pointless and very difficult.
It really appeals to me  ;D
I'd love to see Johnny Dawes  :bounce: on this - with Seb and Grimer  :beer2:(both drunk) providing the commentary. How do I go about making that happen?

It is indeed quality Saturday breakfast viewing. Would love a crack at it, although I suspect I would cripple myself.

I'm fairly sure Louis Parkinson (BIFF winner; pterodactyl shoulders man) is going to be on it.

Joe Swales qualified, he was on last Saturday. Nathan is on it but I've been told he didn't qualify.

It does look pretty lame compared to the proper Ninja Warrior, but it does look like good fun.

All fun and doable apart from the balance stone things, which look a bit too luck based.

Having done an assault course or two...

Those balance stones look Rock!
(Excuse the pun).

Also the curved wall at the end is pretty easy to get wrong.

This is only the qualifiers though, correct?

So the actual course will be much tougher, longer etc?

Still, pretty luck based compared to everything else.

I reckon the average climber would piss the final wall, unless they are dwarf sized.

This is qualifiers, top ten each week go through I think.

Saw Leah on this last night.

If Leah wins, she should go for the triple: Ninja warrior, X-factor AND master-chef all in one year.

Now that would be a true all round climber.

Andrei Burton was on for a couple seconds last night.
Just his run up the the wall to finish in the top ten, apparently (I was watching the Banff, but the kids are fans of his so were eagerly awaiting).
So, there's another Brit climber/MTB'er through to the semi's.

Anyone who has been following this over the years (the kids are now massive fans too), worth watching this years final. (no spoilers!)

Kids are really into Beastmaster on Netflix. Like NW but with national teams and loads of cheese. Good fun.
