That's what I'm talking about!
I bet Fiona's well chuffed about you posting the finer details online. One day Una's sure to come across this and mutter the immortal line..."dad, you're so embarrassing"  :slap:

Great news, a birth and a tale.
Hats off to your wife, but to the little beast as well.
I'd like to hear news in a few years when the two alpha-females will collide, like: "Mom I'm going out tonight." "No you're not." "I am, you can bet." "I bet you are not." "Dad, can I go out?"
You will be crushed to atoms.
Congratulations T2T!!!

Thanks all, think we are all coming to terms with what's happened - Andy, I was saying to Fiona that I should write down what happened as I'm sure the details will fade with time, and she agreed it'd be a good idea so she is cool with it!

As for the physical details / bouldering potential, although the grip is surprisingly strong right now I gather that's just a reflex. She's not a big baby anyway (6lbs 4oz), and even "small baby" clothes are swamping her right now. So, good finger strength but on the smaller side of average...wonder where she gets that from then?!

I'm sure you could sell it to one of the parenting magazines too, they love that shit.

a quick calculation indicates that Fiona is now entitled to 12 years of unchallenged "if you don't know what's wrong, I'm not going to tell you" incidents

Birds have an unlimited entitlement to those anyway don't they? Or at least every single one I've ever met has!

Haven't hear 'birds' in a long while. Takes me back to the days of only fools and horses. Are you from Peckham?

No, Sussex.

Actually "bird" is a hangover from my Broadfield / clubbing days when blokes and birds called birds who they were mates with "bird" (and birds actually sometimes called blokes "bird"). A sort of reverse/ironic sexism thing (like calling your mates cunts when you actually love them) that obviously doesn't sound like that when written on the internet.

I shall however continue to use it. Especially in such context as used above.  :)

Me and the missus popped out baby out a few weeks ago now.

Amelie Ann, born 18/02, weighing 5lbs 14oz.

No news on here until now due to sleepless nights and shit filled nappies getting in the way.

Looks like I spoke too soon!

Little one arrived at 8am this morning, Olivia Paige Owens weighing 7.8 pounds.

Mum did awesome again and both are well.

Going to enjoy a few weeks off!

I have a belated announcement. Mini galpinos Mk II, Isabelle, was born 8 weeks ago. She managed to get meningitis after 6 days which lead to a somewhat stressful time but is all well now.

All that's now required is some sleep and some kind of idea of how to look after two children on my own (Hen do this weekend)......
