Yorkshire Sport Away from Malham/Kilnsey
August 24, 2007, 10:42:13 am
Where is worth going in Yorkshire for sport <= 7a+ other than Malham & Kilnsey?

I've done (well, struggled desperately up) Jim Grin at Trollers , been to Robin Proctors and done most stuff.

Dib Scar? Blue Scar? Comments on rockfax.com seem to be unenthusiastic.
Goredale? Looks scary! Only worthwhile for harder grades?
Trow Gill? I get the impression there's lots of new easy routes on choss. Much quality? Worth the walk for the south wall?
Gigg S - the bit I visited (round the swan routes) seemed pretty cack. Maybe I'm a philistine?

Any recommendations?

Trow Gill is well worth the walk up (if dry!). Excellent routes from 6a-8a, with lots of good stuff in the 6b-7b+/7c region. Not tried any of the 8's but the do look good as well. The different sides give different climbing.
