Bouldering on Outer Hebrides
August 02, 2007, 10:23:01 am
Long shot I know but does anyone out there know of any bouldering spots worth checking out on Uists and Benbecula mostly, but also on Harris / Lewis?

It's mainly a surfing trip and we are taking trad gear, but some nice lowball stuff with OK landings (no room in car for mat too) would be good for inbetween sessions and flat days.

Preferably actual rock rather than fictitious stuff.

I was gonna say the pebble man would sort you out and teach you a thing or 2 about climbing V15 . But seriously what are the bugs like up there, i really fancy a trip but dont fancy being eaten to death by the flying death squad that is the midgy army, i seem to be a good flava as the little bastards feasted on me at cromlech at the weekend. Any knowledge would be good cheers

Some info gleaned here. Friends just got back, said it was too breezy for midges to be a major issue, but we may not be so luckly.

Hopefully submit a full and gleaming report here, in two weeks.
