I thought one man and his Shed was a purely British thing! You have to fill a shed with crap and then sit in it with a secret bottle of whisky according to my Dad, does this go on on an international level then?

Yeah, only in OZ and Kiwi-land they have beer in the shed, not whisky.  Only a slight regional difference, but significant all the same.
