you might want to consider this:
crappy airpad alert

an airpad made in sweden. ugly as hell and developed in cooperation with 8a.nu. 2 major turn-offs but only 365euros if you're quick and free shipping. Might be the best option for all those old guys here .

I must admit I'm intrigued by this. You're right it looks awful though.
I'd really like to know how or if these compare to the Flashed pads in use rather than in theory before buying though.

A Canadian friend of mine is bringing a Ronin across for me at the end of the month - meeting him at Font. So we will test it and if they seem the bogs dollocks then we might look at importing. But we might loan it out for testing to the odd person or 2 - if they renew ;) of course

Cheers
Graeme

Nice one... keep me informed. I've looked into this in detail as you know. One matter I have not resolved is the dock fees if you import by ship (takes > 6weeks as well).

I have reference numbers from customs re duty rates. As the works is VAT registered this will be easier for you, a lot easier! But I can give you basic ideas of the import rates. I dont know what you paid for with the revolution pad import you did, as the ronins are classed as roll upable mats the rate was in the order of 6.3% on total of all costs including importation freight fees. That's why I tried to get MEC to send me a couple over - the air shipping they charge is way cheap!

If you wanna bring 2 over I'll have one off you!

Of course I'll be looking foreward to a 10% discount from the works if you do import a bulk lot. Being a full member an all  ;)

Jon

I am on lock-up duty tomorrow night (Wednesday) so pop in around 9pm if you can. Have a natter about things. You will be gob smacked to hear that it's not as simple (ie cheap) as it seems even after your research.

Graeme

Ps Dolly, your inclusion in any loaning-for-free-testing-deal depends on your behaviour in the future. You and the good Dr G's behaviour should have seen you committed. Now whether in my eyes that kind of behaviour is to be applauded or condemned is for you to work out

BTW do you think that us buying in a shed load of Pale Rider for future Works slideshows would be a good thing?

ScUm supporters have been practising synchronised  :wank: ing for years.... still doesn't look as good as synchronised  :alky: ing. Nice find

Idea of test driving these things before buying is top.

Well Dolly as well as arranging for a Ronin to arrive at the Works in a few weeks we have also just ordered a Swedish airbag so we can do a test between the 2 systems. I reckon we hire a cherrypicker and drop Fatdoc from increasing heights onto both mats until we break him and see which is the best

This is great great news.
We could charge £5 for anyone who wants to er.. watch.

I guess I should stump up for the Pale Rider to compensate for the behaviour of me and Dr G last time  :-[

Reckon The Works could capture the early market by renting these things out.

no shit...

I just WANT ONE

as does dolly, dylan, fatboyflimfast and a few others with dislocated ankles / plates in situ... current pads are not the total business
