I've just been given a smart promotion and a hefty pay increase. Combined with my accumulation of 7 days off by the end of August, I'll perhaps see some of you there.

I've tried to buy Trangia fuel in Chur before.  I'd really endeavour to get some in England if I was you.  The stuff the Swiss jobsworth peddled to us had to burn for about half an hour before any bubbles appeared in a pan of water. However I imagine you may have more luck if you speak the lingo.

What, they're no longer paying you with just sex?

Combined with my accumulation of 7 days off by the end of August, I'll perhaps see some of you there.

Doubt it, we've all decided to go on grit instead.  It's bound to be drier.

No pen?  No Paper?  What kind of twentieth century writing methods do you use?  I thought you were all technogadgeted up.  And you called me a Luddite the other day.

They'll be about fifteen of us from Liverpool, Sheffield, Hull and elsewhere in Magic Wood the last week of August.  You probably won't miss us, we'll be moaning about the heat and arguing over what to eat that night.

Nibile, I'll drop you a pm in the days leading up to our visit. It would be good to hook up. (If I can manage to get over my fear of flying within the next 2 weeks and not throw my ticket in the bin)

Fully psyched!

that will be very funny to be the darkest, only moustached, shortest southern eurpoean around in a wood full of tall, blonde men and women.

some good beta on where to eat
go into andeer, when you get onto the cobbled road (ie andeer itself) where the first fork is, take the right fork and there is a place just there. they do pizza till half 9ish I think and good jars of calanda brau! the pizza's are also very good
they do a full menu before 8ish but we only left the crag early enough once and everyone had a 28 egg omlette for 63pence or something like that. I had stuffed schnitzel which was also good, probably not as much protien tho
admittadly you probably don't want to eat there every night as pizza 2 nights on the trot was enough for me

Duly noted Jim. On account of the size of that sandwich you were seen eating on your trip, I'll take your gastronomic word.

I think the tally stands at 17 of us now or something, can't wait.

just to clarify what jims actually talking about. we all decided to have omelette beforehand cos it was only 10 franks, and we'd been spending rather a lot on food from the kitty. me, ned n beef all asked for omelette and then jim piped up with "cordon bleu escalope please". luckily this only came to the same price as all ours combined.
apricots were banned
