Durham wall opened today and so I went along. It is a quality wall with plenty of variety. The problems are superior to those at any of the local walls, the volume of climbing is far greater too. The bleaustone holds were good - not a tweaky hold on any of the climbs I tried.

At first the height of the walls was a bit intimidating but after a while I became accustomed. It did encourage me to down-climb more than I usually would.

Word of advice.. wear trousers as the textured wall left a few grazes on ankles and knees.

agreed, ive got grit style cuts all over. even on me chin.
nice to meet you today rich (i think it was you)
and that running black V6 has grazed me arm into a new pain level like today with the textured walls
and i agree,
the wall is amazing. the height a little intimmidating at first but really adds something new to indoor climbing.
i really enjoyed the scale and range of problems which make you think about the route.
lovely staff, very friendly and good value.
the font style bouldering problems works well as you can beast circuts.
they are still in the process of putting new routes up and at the minute the max is v8+.
overall the place is excellent!

there is no such thing as V8+, aside from that they're pretty good reviews of the wall ;)

Yeah that black slab problem was a little cheeky.
