I'm going too!
Staying till Monday night making the most of the bank holiday weekend. Don't really know what to expect from it all, seems like there's going to be a lot of people there, will there be enough rock to go round?
Well more pressingly for me do I have enough skin? Still recovering from Font trip.... from what I hear it's pretty rough.....
At the very least it looks like a beautiful area...

So I'm going to get rained on over the weekend.

...and, the answer to your question is that we italians arrange bad weather to preserve our climbing projects from foreigners.

Hey Nibs,
Sunday was lovely (despite the hangover - the party was way better than the last 2 years). Sat was okay in the morning, we climbed quite a bit before it rained.
Shame you couldn't make it, it was fun. Everyone is always so friendly despite my embarassing lack of Italian. I'll be back next year!

Ended up going to Melloblocco as the weather crapped out in Val del Orco, and what an excellent surprise!! Flippin' excellent weekend and following few days. Weather was good, good boulders, loads of routes to do in the valley and plenty of friendly people. Very recommended. Think I might go again next year!

Yeah - it was all quite impressive. Friendly people, enough boulders to go round, not too crowded really. Goes without saying that it's a beautiful setting too.
New boulders were great and the ones from previous years were lovely! Weather was amazing on Monday too, too hot for anything really hard so bumbling around the upper valley was great. The women's problems in Val di Mello (from 2005 comp I think) seemed pretty hard (especially that Devils and Dust one) or maybe I was weak after 2 and a half days on and a big hangover. Will definitly consider another trip!

Hi Joel,
The 2005 problems were good, Devil and Dust was really hard - though it was flashed by 6 birds
Fair enough, they did include Sandrine and other such strong people. Don't know how to paste links, but this might do it.

hey don't diss the green t-shirts they are cool! - better than the old black t shirt and jeans bouldering uniform surely?
Thanks for the link Lucy, forgot to say it was nice to meet you! Have been forcing Adam to try more sit starts (just so I can laugh at him) but then he's been burning me off on the more dynamic stuff....

Just a note to say Melloblocco will be taking place over 4 days this year.. 8-11 May, that's enough time for even Nibile to find his way to the valley, and an extra 2 days that our fingers have to hold out!!
