I'm calling the lime

Has anyone kept records of when Arthur has called the lime each year? Is it getting earlier and earlier?

I think it is. Perhaps the good folk at the Uk phenology network should be kept informed.

However I can't help feeling this call may be premature, and if I may say so, a little knee-jerk, hasty and generally lacking in the gravity usually accorded. An unusually dry march does not a summer make. Though if it continues in this vein it may be the driest year ever, unfortunately probably the hottest as well.

Which means that all the Lime in the UK will be drier than the Atacama desert. Which is very dry  ;D ;D. Bring it on  8)

If it gets too dry don't some of the limestone venues start falling to bits?

Bring your beanies and sand paper back out as it's gonna freeze over the weekend!

I've heard that myth. Utter rubbish IMO. People just get to pull on holds that have not been used for years hence a few falling off.

I actually pulled on the Lime yesterday at Crag X too - what a child friendly - unspoilt - quiet place it is too - and non of the rock was dirty at all of course!!

..What a lovely pastime is the lime....

 ;)

I thought that crag X had a no-go policy, hence its removal from guide books and this forum (name only)

Its a bit weird that you are saying how good it is when this might affect the access Jacqusie

The lime is where it's at. Forget the grit and return to the light...

I'm not sure about that one. Caley has been buzzing the last two nights. Packed with boulderers and routers, perfect conditions and sends galore.
