Nothing like handing in your notice..

And seeing manager physically jump.

So as of end March; flexible time, more holidays, more money, 10 mins from beach and new climbing centre that should be open by the time I start. Only problem will be finding somewhere to store surfboard, as I will likely be commuting. Wonder how much space climbing centre will have spare?

Downside; likely more stress, comute will rise from approx 5 minutes to 20 minutes.

Congratulations Chris, it's such a great feeling.

Sounds like you're on to a winner with the new job too, particularly if it brings flexible time and more holidays - they're amongst the most important parts of a job I reckon.  Other than internet access obviously!

Good effort, mate. A 20 minute commute isn't so bad for all those other plusses. Get yourself a van for the board, and then you can live out of it during the week (in the summer months, obviously!) Commute sorted!

Van is a long term plan, not sure g/f will take too kindly to me living out of it though, with home 20 mins away.

Plan in driving in occasionally, but parking is a hassle and expense. Bus will be easier, then walk to beach for lunchtime surf sessions  8)

Nice one Chris... you might find your new employer will allow you to keep your board somewhere once you get your feet under the table..

Aye, still 15 min walk to the beach though. Thinking of better options; R's dad works at harbour (insert joke if you wish), there's transition leisure centre or surf life saving club hut, where they store their stuff. Many possibilites.

When you up here next FD? We get back on 11th, should be enough light for evening sessions by then.

Contracts Manager. Sounds scary, but basically doing what I do now for more money.

I can pm you if you want more details.

Never be completely happy with an office job, but it fits into the grand sheme ........

Always a bit of nerves before a new job, but 2 weeks boarding as of tomorrow will relieve stresses somewhat

Enjoy the hols... I've been in Aberdeen for the last few weeks but I have a new job too so I've been mega busy and not climbing in the eveninings.  I've swum a few times though to get fit for surfing barbados a week on Monday  8)

We're back on the 18th so I'll up and about from then but I'm now a 'Global Vice President'  :o so I won't be in Aberdeen as much as last year....

Have a fab trip; nothing like handing in your notice and going on holiday! Say hi to R for me

Nice one on the new job. Global VP beats Contracts manager any day. I've done no climbing training for last few weeks anyway, been working on fitness for ski trip, swimming etc.

Hope Barbados is good for you.
