The Beeb don't quite seem to have grasped the subleties of "climbing without ropes", but their use of the inverted comma is entirely appropriate.  ;)

The 20-year-old from the University of Wales, Bangor was "bouldering" on Saturday when he got stuck by his hips.

I was bouldering about there on saturday afternoon and heard him scream as he slipped and got stuck. Needless to say we sat on top of joe's crack boulder, got stoned and watched the 4 fire engines, 1 fire truck, 2 police cars a couple of ambulances and 3 mountain rescue cars try to get him out. it was brilliant.

We got your text message over at Nesscliffe on Saturday afternoon and Way Rude read it out to the gallery. I wonder if this lad realised how instantly famous he was/is? Probably too busy worrying if he was going to die.

my first reaction was something along the lines of "....arrgghhh my ticklist - what if the edge problem was damaged?!" rather than human concern or sympathy.  Does this make me a bad person?  I do worry sometimes....

Would be a blessed relief to us all. The worst problem I've attempted in Wales. I'd rather be stuck in a boulder for 5 hours.

This who event is fucking funny BTW

Its a shame that the shit has already started on cocktalk.  I esp liked the post "He deserves no less for spending his days ponsing about on a 4 foot boulder..." ........the best bit of psychobabble I've ever heard is that your actions and criticisms are a reflection of yourself, so at least we know that Garbh Coire is a posing bastard.
To be honest with that many firemen about, if there had been any good looking ones i'd of pretended to be stuck too.....

You make your bed, you lie in it.  As they say.  Indeed, they made a right mess.  Daft twat.

Apparently the hydraulic jack used cost £35,000.  This is the first time they've had chance to use it.

You not done any of my problems have you?  The edge problem is a right of passage!

The guy obviously got the wrong idea when somebody mentioned "indoor bouldering".
