Yeah, I remember them. I didn't get a leech with my Kendos and ended up having a right old argument with the La Sportiva Customer Care Centre. Eventually they backed down and sent me a centipede as compensation. I have to say I was disappointed and have never bought another pair of La Sportivas.

Hardly old school mate. I ain't known them long enough for any of us to be wearing anything other than Prana-like shades of brown, green or cream!

I do have some rather shocking photos of me and other people from way back when I was a kid, just starting to climb in the early nineties though. Some horrific crimes against humanity using tie-dying and the odd bit of lycra (and I really mean "odd bit"). If I can find them in the abyss that is my photo storage system I may well scan them in at school and post them. Then again, I may burn them.

Also Ben (sorry for brief hijack) did you ever find any copies of the magazine that reviewed drugs?The 90s one I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called.

Due to the hot dry climate in South Africa, the leeches would die within hours of application. A bit of an oversight from La Sportive, I thought, insufficient product testing. But if you sent a dead leech to the local distributor, they would exchange it, free of charge, for half a dozen much hardier ticks. You still had to pay postage though.

You mean Eternity magazine (published in Wakefield if you're interested). I couldn't find any copies at home (just about 200 dodgy mix tapes from places like Angels in Burnley) and I haven't searched online because I forgot. Sorry.

Chris, much as this tangent appeals to me and I really want to go on and on about leeches and various bloodsucking creatures given away free by climbing shoe manufacturers, I cannot bring myself to continue on the theme. The thread deserves to stay related to dodgy photos. And I got -ve karma previously for dragging a thread of topic, so I must learn from my mistakes for once (although to be honest I thought that previous thread about favourite beanies deserved to end up talking about baked bean recipes and I should have got +ve karma for my efforts. Anyway.).

Before it is pointed out to me, I'm quite aware that I'm clearly talking out of my arse as I've just posted a reply on this very thread about a mid-nineties happy hardcore fanzine!

I know Chris, I feel ashamed.

In fact I went home and forced myself to do 200 sets of 20 reps on pull ups on barbed wire, just to exorcise the demons of refusing to be drawn into off topic shenanigans.

It worked too. Today I have only posted comments that are totally on-topic. However, I think I've only actually posted once today (shows how limited I am). Oh yeah, and I posted on UKC for the first time in about a year. However, my post on UKC was plain and simple abuse directed at a mate, so not exactly relevant.

It's done starting under Path Of The Righteous Man and heading north, as you've seen it done. That guy is probably trying to go feet first.

bonjoy is giving the beta that the (presumed by me) 1st ascensionist did the problem. it's pretty obvious when you are there that the line is northwards IMO.
