Duel on the other hand has been repeated by everyone and his dog.

Most of my info is second hand. I heard that you came last in the team qualifiers. Second hand obviously. Off about ten thousand people  ;)

Why 'technically'? Did you get yourself disqualified for cheating or something?

Because I left with my scorecard in my pocket. I wasn't going to win, so what was the point in handing it in?

What do you want me to say? I'm shit, I'm never going to be good, I got beaten by people who are clearly way better than I have ever been, am, or will be. I am just a power hungry beast who will never be good at climbing. FINE!

Are you sure that's not Yuji lying very still and pretending to be a rock so that No-one will notice he's there and then he won't have to climb at Pillbox?

Alreet then, `a nobody' was harsh.  `An unknown' is more appropriate, which I know, is the same as me being ignorant.

All the talented slab climbers seem to keep it underground, hush hush, and shun publicity (and apparently never do any training, bred contempt for  indoor walls, and poor scorn on anything approaching muscular effort ;-) - "climbing is a sequeunce of resting positions is what they say in Bleau")
but even so it would be amazing if it turned out that the hardest slab in the world got done by an unknown.  They'd then be a hitherto unknown.  Way to make a name for yourself.  But this wasn't the case, so a lot of people's initial natural cycnicism was justified.
