Awesome Wall Woodie Problems
December 06, 2006, 10:57:28 am
The woddie upstairs at Awesome Walls, Liverpool, has been re-numbered (thanks Tom and Owen :great:) and a book of qwality problems started (thanks Owen). The book will be kept behind the desk, if anyone has additions feel free to put them in. No numbered grades though (easy, fair to middling, butch etc), just a description.

That sounds good. Are there many more small holds, and problems of 7C and above? THanks.

There are many small wank holds and exactly 25.92 problems of 7c and above.  There also some hard problems too.

Lots of small holds, dunno about the grades as there aren't any.... If you want problems of that grade why don't you come down and set some? I'll be in on Thursday evening if you want to join up.

That sounds alright, and generally I am more than happy to make my own problems up, but I think it's shit that they can't get someone to do this. I don't know if such a concept exists, but maybe a person could set problems that others could climb... maybe they could call them routesetter's. Infact, If someone wants to pay me I'll come and do it myself!  ;)

Bit of a problem there as no-one who set's routes at Awesome can climb 7c or above. You could alway's ask Dave Douglas if he'd cough up some cash for services rendered... ???

on the back of this thread I went to check it out. Unfortunately there aren't many new holds, and personally I still wouldn't bother going. Perhaps the addition of 100 new holds would make it useable but until monolith builds his woody I'll have to keep on driving over to the Den. Hope they can sort it out.

Your opinions have been noted Keith and I will see what I can do about putting more/smaller holds on the woody.
Incidently, no-one actually said there had been any more holds added, only that there is now a process for recording problems on the woody!

As Andy said, nice work Owen, Mono and Vivahate (who got stuck in today).

Seems like there a lot of people waiting on Tom's woody!

There certainly are a lot of locals waiting on my woody, I just have to get it up. ;)

Andy, if it's still ok, it would be great to cast an eye over your board? What's the nearest train station to your gaff? I currently have one of these go everywhere in the world travel pass things and should use it I suppose.

Until T Mills Snr's projects are complete, I won't have a board up. I'm helping him fit a window sub frame at the moment, so the master carpenter will be in action soon enough.

The Awesome book has been filling up nicely I saw yesterday, good work.

There is even talk of Ella writing up a problem in the book!  Now that really is starting young.

P.S. Loved the old school textbook  ;) Just like my old P.S.E textbook which was of course full of childish illustrations of condoms going on cucumbers.
