featuring Sam Whittaker, Jerry Moffatt, Jon Fullwood, Ben Bransby, Adam Long

Didn't realise it was a remake of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

desperately not trying to reach for the evils of alcohol to numb the day away I saw this thread......ooooooohh bit of 'tinterweb shopping for a peak grit bouldering DVD..... nice.

It says volumes about how much people want this DVD that it keeps getting mentioned on the forums, despite not having been properly advertised. Reckon it would have had the potential to sell buckets more if the Bigupproductions approach had been copied - with website including blog, clips and photos all leading up to the release date.

Still, I'm sure it will do well. Can't wait to see it...

Crabstix Productions do have a website - http://www.crabstixproductions.com/ - with a clip on it but it could do with updating with a release date etc. As you say it has generated a lot of interest without ever being advertised in any real coordinated way other than word of mouth and a showing of the trailer (slightly different to the one available online) at the E11 + Set in Stone showing in Sheffield that I know of.

I dearly want this dvd, but simply am not willing to pay £7 for the privilege of getting it sent to me. I know it's a small business and he needs to make living, but this smacks of dishonest pricing - I cannot belive that this is the real cost. It seems like they're transfering some of the price over to the P&P, making it initially look cheaper as you don't see the P&P cost on the product page.

Obviously I'll take this all back in a suitably grovelling manner if its proven it really does cost £7 for a padded envolope and registered post in the UK ;)

Well exactly - crash pads are massive, dvds are small and light. Basically two crashpads to italy costs the same as three dvds to the UK! Had a quick gander at the Royal mail site and the cost of special delivery is ~ £4.10 plus maybe 50p for packing ain't coming out at £7!
Don't get me wrong, I've always had great service from moon/s7, and think the products are great. To be honest I think I'd have bought it if they'd said £23 for the dvd with £4 P&P, but this sort of underhand pricing leaves a bad taste in the mouth - though it's well embedded on ebay.

Having said all this I do want to see it, so I may be forced to swallow my principles and pay the man anyway...

Hold the bus. If someone buys five copies, then it costs them nothing for P & P, and they can distribute with a reasonable postage cost to interested parties.

Just a thought, if people are desperate? I'm in no rush to get it.

Just been browsing the various online dvd retailers. For UK orders...

Moon - £3 delivery
Needlsports - No delivery charge, but they add £1 to every DVD for postage
Cordee - No delivery charge for orders over £25, and +10% for anything under. They don't stock Winter Sessions yet
Rock and Run - £3.50 delivery, and promise a free lapis bouldering brush if you pre-order Winter Sessions
Planetfear - £3.50 delivery

So Needlesports are best for Winter Sessions

true, but by buying Moon you are subsiding his stirling product research efforts.  Who knows what advances in technology could be forever stillborn because of inadequate funding?

By buying from needle-sports you are directly pissing on my chance ever to own such rumoured next-gen delights as the:
- "Moon Gravity" a combined chalk-bag and weight belt, fashioned from pig-iron and mercury, with a money-back guarantee to cause spinal damage if you fall (and, should his recent research at the National Physical Laboratory prove fruitful, an integral pocket for car-keys).
- "Dark Side of The Moon" - black chalk with a special ingredient that makes you evil.
- or at the very least... a vest with 9a written on it, although unfortunately due to the Trade Description Act these would have to be hand-woven by Ben from hair harvested from Buoux 8c.

I Picked up a copy yesterday.....very inspiring footage fof a lot of unfmailiar problems and a lot of classics! Definately got me keen to travel over to Western grit more often!

Great soundtrack too.... overall really great vid.... however some of the editing could be smoother!

Rhys tells me that it can be ordered online at www.crabstixproductions.com , with no charge for postage.
Obviously buying it this way means more money goes back to Rhys, to help pay for the huge amount of time put into making the film.

It's in the trees at Burb North, some way north of Scotchzlas Prow. It's detailed in the BMC guide I think, but not under that name.

Got home from work to see my copy waiting for me so good work Moon Climbing for the on time delivery. On first viewing I was a little disappointed, it was only on the second viewing I realised on the first viewing I had only watched the extras and outtakes  Definitely pysched to get on the grit now, just need to persuade my southern sandstones mates to make the journey...

Well done to all involved in the film.
