Has anyone done the rightwards traversing exits from that Egg problem?  I dimly recall some problems listed at around V5 in the old ACD guide that I've never managed to fathom.

Yeah the rightwards exit along the rail is a bit easier than topping out direct as it's less sandy.  There's also the version that traverses the face on pockets via a (avoidable) rose move which is quite a bit harder due to lack of footholds.

Hit the roaches just before Christmas, first time using my new 550d, hasn't got an actual send in the vid I just wanted to test the quality of an upload to vimeo, in a couple of weeks I should be heading up to Scotland then Birmingham so hopefully lots more footage and some vids coming soon :D

That's the one - no footholds and lots of unpleasant match moves on bad holds?  I occassionally have a crack before giving up in disgust and doing something supposedly harder! So, is it just horrendously undergraded or is there a knack?

Sorry Moose, forgot to reply to this. I have done it and thought it was about 7A+ or so, but can't remember the specifics except I definitely didn't do a rose move (and therefore probably invalidated my ascent!).  I think there may be a small key foothold towards the middle of the bottom lip?

regarding the 2 kg, I was well surprised as well. 2 kg is roughly 3% of my bodyweight, I didn not expect such a difference. I'm very curious to try again tomorrow with taped fingers and cool temps.

I think that 2 kg made all that difference also due to the nature of the problem, with snatchy, precarious moves, in which getting the holds exactly in the right spot is extremely crucial (at least for me). I think if it were a simple grab and pull with positive holds, 2 kg would make less difference.
I also have to say that when Michele Caminati laps it in preparation for his project, everything seems quite static and the holds seem to be good wherever he grabs them...
