Apologies for my inability to embed properly - what do I do to get rid of the http mumbo jumbo?

Don't bother using the html code that Vimeo provide for embedding, it won't work on these (and many other forums) which use BBcode (which is why you get all the gubbins).  Instead just copy and paste the URL of the page the video is hosted on.

Cheers for the embedding info.
There's two areas, both about a 10 min drive from Wolftrax, followed by a 10-15 min walk.  So far they have about 25 established problems in total.  A fair few of them are easy, small and not particularly amazing, but a worthwhile local circuit, and there are a few genuinely classy problems, and now I've shown Dave I suspect a few harder additions will emerge.  A bit more info is on my blog here, and scattered about on other posts:  http://gaz-softrock.blogspot.com/2011/03/winter-of-discontent.html.

Cool, good options in the area. I looked at your blog a while back, good to see more development. Anywhere near producing a topo?

Brilliant effort punkpunk. Is the block far from the main area and is the landing as bad as it looks on the highball?

can't take the credit for finding it that was my mate Wojciech. It's about 10 mins further along the main track and a left at the fork then into the woods at the crest of the rise and follow the path for 5mins. Path is easy to miss, can't miss the boulder. Landing isn't flat and grassy but it is ok with a few mats and a spotter, we levelled a tree stump with the ground a flattened a rock to patio it a bit.  Well worth a visit.

Nice vid. Love the hug after the first good attempt! That track is great too, best thing on the radiodread album IMO.

Cheers Duma, Chris was pretty chuffed to be spotted away from the rock!!
I love this track too, it took me longer  to decide on the track to use on the vid then it took me to edit!!
Can't believe this piece of rock has been overlooked, the sandstone's quality is up there with the best in the county.

good to see all the variations

There's loads more variations than that.

It's a bit of a mess up there at the moment. That morning (a weekend) I picked up all sorts of rubbish left around the bouldering areas.

I turned down a joint deal with Bargain Booze and Aslan's Kebabs. Basically, there are Greggs shops every fucking where, so I don't have to go more than 20 mins without eating.

I went with Tennent's Super because it says "strong lager" on the tin; and also because I like it of course.

Is there no version of that traverse that you can actually climb with a can of Tennants, resting it on holds as you go along?

No, but there is a version where I drink 4 cans of Super and rest in the sunshine for a few hours. A couple of mats makes this a lot easier.

HWDP or ChWDP (read ha-voo-de-pe) is a frequently used acronym of a Polish vulgar phrase chuj w dupę policji, meaning literally a dick up the police's ass

The truly discerning gent always chooses a can of "Spesh". Oi, two's up mate!

You can't beat a cold Tennent's Super. Spesh is too treacly, but a warm Special Brew is better than a warm Tennent's. Both are nectar compared to the horror that is Crest Super.

Greggs is always the worst option, but cheap.
