Anyway, it's not hard to avoid publicisation of cool problems away from the main Ilkley honeypots because there's hardly any apart from the useful Unknownchoss.com guides, so there's a tiny wee thing to rectify that.

I was just bantering Cheque up, somewhat ironically given he's the original down-to-earth footage genuine activity climber with his labour-of-love films and I'd rather watch Stonnis on repeat than accidentally see even a single thumbnail of Mitbobat MacFarlane.

Anyway, the point is, there's some great stuff a bit off-piste in the Ilkley area, worth a look even if you're coming from further afield than Bingley. The rock at High Crag / Swastika Stones is shockingly good by the usual low standards of Yorkshire, when dry (a scenario which might only occur in many months time), it's a pity I injured myself before exploring more there.

Of course you know that I'm not slagging off anyone publicising their climbing (which I devour a lot of) per se, but instead slagging off particular methods and subject matters that I find crass and irritating - number focused clickbait hype about stuff that is common or mundane, often with excess editing (or occasionally no effort for clarity). And for that matter, the disproportionate attention that such stuff can get irrespective of quality or interest, for reasons that are still bewildering to me (are portrait videos of indoor V4s really that desirable?? Actually I don't want to know)... Whilst stuff like, say, Dave Mason's videos get little attention despite quality hard problems, and Laney30ii still isn't in any grit climber's bookmarks as it damn well should be.

Aside from the fact they start the same, the tops are all completely different climbing despite their proximity to each other. 3 good 8A variations to finish or the original f7C"+" finish (Susurrus)
