whilst trying to find the better edit, I noticed that I seem to do a double foot placement/settle quite a bit on the video. I've always been one for a hand and finger reposition, but never noticed myself doing a foot equivalent

Always nice to make the right decision weather wise, here is a cracking boulder from Dan Varian..... who else thinks the ladder shouldn’t go back up at the Bowderstone?

a few uncomplicated shots of the far east end of Burbage North

there's some good easy problems there -  the walk along the top of the crag to get there is lovely; and flat

the place itself has a good "away from it all" feel

it catches a good breeze and so dries out nicely

a bit scrittley, but some more traffic should sort that

20 years ago I used to have a really smooth sequence for doing The Sheep

I have wanted to do a good video of that sequence with decent close-ups of hand and and foot placements

it hasn't happened yet

here is a sequence cobbled together from several poorly executed ascents..... one day I will sort out a decent bit of filming....

Pan & scan belongs in the 1980s, you're a filmatographer, I can't believe you'd do that to your own work etc.

What's the knowledge for pulling off the deck on Shieldmaiden? The video seems to skip that bit. Is it a heel? I found the stand up pretty steady but got shutdown by the problem on the left.

There are a few ways. I did it with beta from teastub, a right heel and left foot ruddering underneath. Other way is a lower right heel and toe hooking with left under boulder. Newman did it with a kneebar at the start!

It's in Shock of the New. Ben did it this/last year and it looks good, if not a bit sharp at the start. I think Dan and SotN go direct at the top, staying on the left of the rib. Ben moved slightly right to the other side of the rib after standing in the pocket. Probably both steady-but-scary?

Yh, me and Buck did it a few years ago. Seem to remember there being couple of hard moves of the deck and the top just being a bit gripping as it can often be a bit dirty. I think I stayed left at the top too, I'll have vid of it somewhere.

Nice one. That's kind of a counter-line to what Ben did - I'm sure he started on the left and went right at the top. Quite nice that it can be climbed in different ways like that.
