I took the question mark to be more about what Luke was doing with his towel than the hold!?

Short video of some great bouldering hidden in the Aberglaslyn woods, featuring the classic "Super crack"

Good little boulder that one. Was there a week ago Sunday. Didn't think of your go again right hand to higher part of crack and crossed over into it with a high left foot, quite spicy either way!

The question marked hold out is a dish you slap out to with your left hand (pressing from from the second part of the crack), then you yard to the top direct for a burly 7B.

Nice one Rich, I must admit I was surprised to see chalk there!

I guessed who ever had been on it had been matching the 2nd slot but for me the smaller first slot felt so solid it felt easier to go again. First move is mega, top out was nails because it was damp.

Fatneck got the question mark thing right though. I've got a 3hr+ battery life and big memory card on my camera so I just leave it recording most of the time and it's amazing what you stupid stuff you find yourself doing when standing about...

The 7B of Robins' looks really good but unfortunately I ran out of skin after the super crack!

Some more Perth granite. This is another really nice boulder, took a couple of sessions and one pretty shitty dismount!

And a couple more from the same boulder.

If you happen to be in font with more than 20 degree celsius, this thing (and the easier lines on the same bit of rock) may be a brilliant choice:

Another vlog, this time, Ropes of Maui (8B) in the Pass, just to add to the collection of videos of that problem.

Anyway, I bought a drone, I am unsure about the drone, so thought I would ask you guys, what you think? Good, Bad, adds more to a video???

Enjoy.

:p

PS - enjoyed the vid.. very smooth on Maui.. didn't look like you were having to try hard (which probably means you were the whole way)...

Drone shots? they can be cool - like all pics depends on the light - the valley shot was good - the one of the boulders less so as the light was flat with no contrast.. On one of grimers podcasts (was it Lucy or Hazel? I forget) they were talking about making films... and were given the advice "all thrill and no fill" - in other words its really easy to put in shots that have taken you ages (or cost you alot of  money) but you have to think what do they add to the story? to the film? if nothing - then even though you've invested in it, it should be left out... Thats my non drone, drone advice :)

This is really cool, Robin. Did you hear about this as an existing venue or is it an original bouldering exploration? Is this the venue that Andy E and co are supposed to have been developing? Looks like lots of potential knocking about.
I've kept my eyes peeled in the dales for decent bouldering spots and the escarpments are mostly too easy or loose or have really steep landings or something else wrong with them. Maybe holes in the ground is the way to go?

Midges look like something else though!

Jeez. If you tell the wind your secrets, don't be surprised when the wind whispers them to the trees.

Jordan tipped me off about Hull Pot a few years ago, after he did some new sport routes there. Took me ages to get round to checking it out. Sutty has also done a problem there, a harder sitter starting on undercuts just left of Dawid. I think he said about 7C+.

It is a cool venue. I heard later it was a particularly midgy summer's day all over Yorkshire, so I don't know how typical the midgey hell is. But after that experience I wouldn't consider visiting unless it was a windy day, or winter. We boshed out two problems and ran for our lives.

I've just spent a long weekend up in Kalbarri and I'm absolutely blown away. Bullet hard sandstone that goes on for miles, the majority of it is untouched as far as bouldering is concerned.

The stuff in this video is just some of the bouldering that's been developed over the last few years by a small number of people. I can't wait to get back up there and do some further exploring and get some FA's.

Looks cool, how far from Perth? Got some mates who live in Perth who are bouldering punters and like to get away.

Shelled out for Neil Hart's "Nalle does the black circuit at Cuisiniere" vid and was a tad underwhelmed...

For some reason I was expecting it to be free. After parting with cash for Out of Sight II, and being very disappointed, I'm definitely going to pass.

More nonsense, but my Youtube career is looking good, £6.39 up so far.

Dow Crag for those interested, Supergene and Hacienda. Its a good summer venue and I personally think one of the better Lakes mountain bouldering venues, hope it inspires people to check it out.

Ps. I can fly a drone!

Enjoy!
