Lymouth bouldering with the kids
April 07, 2024, 09:36:11 pm
Hoping Brutus will be along to answer this one...

We're off up to Combe Martin for a few days, and it looks like it might momentarily stop raining.  We're considering taking the pads and having a look at the bouldering near Lynmouth.  I've never been before, are there any obvious choices for good areas to go with the kids?  Not for them to boulder necessarily, just nice beach spot, fairly easy access etc

Thanks

Ged

Hey Ged. I think Brutus is on holibobs so might not see this for a while.

I'd say Lynmouth East is a good shout (just walk along the beach to the right looking out from the harbour/village)

plenty to go at, with harder stuff on the bottom of the main cliffs and then easier stuff for kids on the blocs on the beach.  Caveat - it's a mix of grey sand/boulders/pebbles, don't expect to build sand castles  ;)

I know I don't need to say this but.. check the tides, it's definitely low tide only (and easy to get cut off)  ::)
