Surfing the Peak
October 31, 2006, 08:14:04 pm
T'was the second anniversary of mr and mrs phil this sunday and the misses couldn't have done better than get me
this
little beauty. I've already had a fine session at Fidler's Elbow, where I had to bail in a rather spectacular style, before having a good afternoons bouldering at Baslow and Curbar, but does anyone else know of some quality riding locations in the peak... ...I have Thursday off and want to try and injure myself again.
Anyone else dabble?

Spoke to clm t'other night and its seems I 'did do an Obi', though I made sure I bailed into a grass embankment and I had the gloves and helmet on (thank you Petzl!).
I might just take a look up at Mam Tor, though it would be a real shitter of a walk back up after every go.

I have returned from South Africa the proud owner of a 7"4' Bilt Fish. Am currently trying to convince myself that it is possible to do lunchtime surf sessions from the office; 10 min drive to stonehaven, 5 mins to change, half hour in the water, 5 mins to change and 10 min drive back. It will happen, oh yes it will happen.

Go for it. That 30mins will make it all worthwhile.
I will be freezing may arse off in Cornwall in a few weeks. A weekend of bouldering, surfing, longboarding, drinking, eating and partying. excellent

Sounds good. Noted it was light by 7:15 this morning, so convinced that pre work sessions are also still possible. Such a shame that Stonehaven needs big winter swells to get going. It was flat most of the summer when it was getting light at 5.

Will post some soon. I am over 6" 2' and between 13-14 st (depending on time of year) so reckon it's about right for me. Will see how i get on with it, just progressing from minimal.

Fish. Was not sure whether to go for Flyer or Fish, but guy in shop in CT convinced me Fish was way to go.
Bilt Board (Spider I think).
May hold back on an FD Limited Edition for a bit until he establishes himself in the market. And sorts out his fins
