Going to maybe go the doc's and see if I can get redirected to a sports physio and get it properly assessed! I think it might be worth paying a bit of money to find out the score rather than tentatively testing it out over and over again as it doesn't seem to be getting better any time soon

After a lot of applicance of SCIENCE to calculate my probable size I took a punt on mail-ordering Sportiva Venoms in the end.  Not worn them much in anger but I reckon we'll be very happy together.   They seem to have a lovely balance of flex, stiffness and incredible big-toe directing power.  Llike a very snug glove (a fit that can only be described as erotically crippling!).   Looks like the time I spent feeding my Boreal Stingma, Montrail, and Sportiva sizes, and those of people in published rock-shoe reviews (and Golt) into my giant super-computer COLLOSSON was not wasted!
