Me trying to make the first ascent of 'The Dislocator' - so called cause thats what it almost did to my shoulders the first time i tried it!

as yet its still unclimbed (although we guess its somewhere in the V8 range) - 32 degrees with 80% humidity aint optimum conditions for sticking those slopers![/img]

indeed it is - we've still not figured out how to top it out though, current high point is left hand on the highest chalk mark and right on a shit slopey side pull round the corner. the problem lies in the fact theres no bloody footholds to throw for the good edge high up, bring on winter

It does indeed look like a money problem. More concerned about the lack of hair on the noggin there stu.

Might come over for the wedding and flash it for you.

it does a bit, doesn't it - however, looks can be deceiving - this stuff is a pyroclastic tuff (shit that was spewed out the top of a volcano - think i wrote words to that effect in one of my geology exams anyway)

means it eats fingers alive if your not careful (especially when climbing on it in summer!)

take a look at this to see some of the fun to be had in HK - my sevrer provider has just doubled the allowable bandwidth meaning i needn't be so worried about sharing my vid clips in the future

If it went all the way round you could ride it like a huge wall of death on a fast motorcrosser.

But just how fast a motocross bike? I estimate that the visible section of the supposed loop bends perhaps 30 degrees in 300 metres, giving a circumference for the whole loop of around 3.6km and thus a radius of around 575 metres. Using the formula given at http://www.mut.ac.th/~physics/Physics/PhysicsMagic/wall.htm and assuming that the friction of the rock is slightly higher than that of wood as given in the referenced page then I calculate that to maintain position on the vertical section of the rock wall of death you'd need to be travelling at a minimum of around 75 metres per second, 270 kph, 170 mph. Mo motocross bike can do this so you're looking at an R1 flat out in top. Which would be exciting.

Now that has got to be the geekiest post so far on ukb - congratulations  :D

All you'd need is a 500 crosser, somehow squeeze a Hayabusa engine in, and maybe add a steering damper and increase the wheelbase a bit.

That, and cahones of large proportions. Bet the Crusty Demons of Dirt crew would be up for it.

If we do it then I reckon we're a sure thing for the next series of Jackass. But you can try first!
