All I can offer is - at long bloody last! honestly, with a physique like that you should be lapping 8c's not paltry 8a's  ;)

Good work follicle.  :shag:

yes finally the most ripped man never to climb 8a has finally done so. I presume by Dals comment you used the big hold out right at the end?  I doubt Saltbeef will be having sleepless nights over this, i sure didn't. effort.

yeah i just chose to tap the chain a couple of times, for training, you see.
as for the toit... next time in font, it won't rank highly on my list of things to do. I'll come spot you on your annual attempt at arabesque though!

well, seeing as raindogs is an eliminate, using the large blocky square hold out right from the last bolt to reach the chain is now dubbed "the sheffield version", though i got told the beta by a cumbrian who lives in skipton...
apparently it makes it 7cplus too.

aaaaahhhhh

thanks.......

i know this is falling on well respected ears but the jump to the chains gets easier with time (read loads of lack lustra grabs)

IMO (old fat got that now could no way get there) it's worth the extra effort - you are one move from the best 8a sport route in the Uk!!!
no... please let's not have the "best in the uk" for the grade debate...... just my opinion to understand the post, sorry.

Ooooh that will open a old wound that only vaguely healed........
Also know what your on about tickling chain just for the work out, congrats on staying with it. I have to admit to giving up after 4 times in one day from the chain :furious:

Having read the thread properly, well done on getting the 7c+ version of Raindogs, now get back and do the proper finish and claim the 8a, then have a  :beer1: on me...

Why make such a good route an eliminate, it doesn't make sense. Going direct isn't that much harder either.

But going direct (the Yorkshire way  ;)) does get 8a, wheras going out right (The Sheffield way  :P) get's 7c+.

Rules is rules, the ethic police say's so...

Effort beef!
I did the Sheff version too and it's still harder than other soft yorshire 8as like Toadal Recall and Subculture. So either it's 8a or there's a whole raft of downgrading needs doing.

Ahhh subculture isnt damn well soft if you cant span out to those massive undercuts and have to match that shite pinch, if you want to pick a soft 8a its got to be The Bulge.

Todall's only easy if your 5'11"+, anything below that and the crux rock-over is a looong reach, Easy 8a IMHO, harder than Herbie, The Ashes or Man with a Gun (but easier than Main Overhang.....).
