if you're trying to delete your sordid browsing habits then try pressing ctrl-shift-dlt.

or try to type this in your address bar; about:cache

good luck

Ta. That has kind of helped, though the folder doesn't seem to actually contain proper files...

What I'm trying to do is this - go on myspace, it automatically plays a track which is presumably stored somewhere on my hard drive? Or does it just go on the RAM? Why can't I save the track and listen to it offline? being still on 56K listening online is pointless...

You won't be able to listen to a lot of tracks that play automatically on myspace. The owner of the music page can choose whether or not they want you to be able to download a particular song. If you are allowed, you will see in the list beneath the audio player, that the track name is not grayed out. If you hover your cursor over the track name and a finger appears, you can download it. If it doesn't, then they don't want you to have a tune for free.

With regards to clearing your cache, either do what unclesomebody has said, or go into the options tab (I think it is, I'm on my mac at moment) and click 'Clear Private Data'. Here you can choose what specific elements of your browsing history you would like to erase. If you want to keep your cookies, then you can for instance by leaving that box unchecked.

I'm trying to access stuff I have downloaded. Ta for that link Bubbs, not such a stupid question as I thought it might be...

jb i hear you

streaming audio does create temporary buffer files yes, but it overwrites the buffer in a fifo stylee  ???

on bubba's thread, here (number 91..) good freeware recommendations for stream capturing

or, if you're a bit fly with the debian, this article may be of interest:http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/145/print
