Between the Rain
May 23, 2003, 11:02:44 am
Anyone else seen this video? Got a copy through the post yesterday and excitedly watched it straight away.I have to say I wasn't overwhelmed although it had some good bits- like the onsight section with Nobbins and Will P, but the bouldering sections weren't particularly inspiring(especially not when coupled with the monotone voiceover-reminicent of One Summer, but with worse grammar). All in all though, a good effort from Mark Reeves which will certainly get a few more viewings. For a first release-not bad atall.
Wat does anyone else reckon? Do ya rate it?

I'll let you know when I've borrowed your copy.

I hear the low-point of the vid is some scrappy cave problem at the end.

Proper shit problem by all accounts-not worth the 3 stars that it's given atall.
I've heard the first ascentionist is proper strong and a bit of a stud. Just hearsay I'm sure.

I've heard the first ascentionist is a weak hypochondriac Freddie Mercury lookalike, only more camp.

You really handed that one to me on a plate......

Ivan Tresch and Bransby try Messiah ground up, I think Ivan does it- Nobbins does Nosferatu (not that impressive really), Artless (ditto) and maybe summert else but can't remember. It ain't really hard grit to be honest.

I would expect nobbins to be able to do nosfreatu in boxing gloves and rollerskates! I once saw ben heason do it in trainers.

I can't believe he's charging 19 quid for it! It is an amateur video at the end of the day and would be worth getting for a tenner. Why take the piss and charge 19 quid (more than hard grit, rampage etc...)

Yeah I would probably buy it if it was a tenner.
