Found www.bombingscience.com    Many pix and including a mail order graffiti supplies shop (!)

Photobucket beggar belief.  That was one rad graf of a large breasted lady with a spraycan between her jugs.  She was licking the nozzle n'all!

Photobucket.  Truly you are retards.  It must be too hot for imageshack too.  C'est la vie.

Stencil revolution has some good shit on it but that tutorial is way beyond beginner stuff shuuurly? I'll be starting with nice monochrome ones I think!

Is that your first effort houdi? pretty good if it was :)

You can get acetate sheeting off ebay - I got 50 sheets for a few quid. Bleeds much less than paper/card apparantly. I also got some fabric paint, a cutting mat and a very sharp stencil-knife.

Anyone know what the best sort of paint is for for walls?

I started making a few stencils a couple of months ago. First ones were copies of pieces by Banksy that I wanted to have but could only dream of owning given the prices. Have since started doing my own designs. I do mine on paper or canvas as a criminal record for vandalism would be a bit inconvenient right now!

That tutorial mentioned above seems way over the top to me. Just draw or print your design on paper or acetate and get cutting.

I use Molotow Premium paint. Seems excellent to me. I get mine from http://www.valleyofchrome.com/

Things I'd recommend...
- Use a proper face mask. I use an activated charcoal one now after burning my lungs out the first evening I spent in the company of spray paint fumes. £20 or thereabouts but worth it.
- Go Michael Jackson style. A latex glove on your non-spraying hand lets you hold tricky bits of the stencil in place without getting a good coating of paint on your skin.
- Use some spray fix to hold the stencil in place. Helps avoid underspray with detailed bits of the stencil.

good tips there Mark - how did your Banksy ripoffs come out?

First one took a few goes to get the hang of it but I'm pretty happy with what I finished up with. Bit of a primate theme.

The picture I really wanted was his Laugh Now print but with unsigned copies going for a grand and a half it prompted me to have a go at making my own. At least that way I've got something vaguely like the original image. It's on A1 paper. Now I've done a bit more I'll probably redo this on a big canvas and use the same font as on the original.

Next was a 2 part piece he did on a wall. I thought it would make a good pair of canvases. It's on two 40cmx40cm canvases.

Other one I've done is more monkeys and more explosions. This one's 40cmx50cm.

big is not always best. (ok, it usually is)

members of the judging panel - what do you think?  does andi win the lager and go down in history as one of the greatest urban artists of the 21st century?

or did he knock up this little stunt in photoshop? i wonder... if that was the case then i think we should spray him until he chokes on the fumes and then we'll get gunter von hagens to plasticize him and put him on permanent display in bolton town hall.

How about a stencil based on this?

Needs to go to some good!

I'd love to have a t-shirt with that on...

Any of the SW/Bristol crew get to see this:

It qualifies, I'd say.

It was made by the Bristol based neon-light artist Richard Box who occasionally I get to work with.  He collected neon strip lights from NHS hospitals and other buildings about to be gutted then placed them in formation under electricity pylons.  And lo!  They glow!  I never saw it - I missed out.

He won a 25k art prize for his efforts.

That's where it originated from; ideas for the UKB T shirt.

That's beautiful. Must be fantastic to experience it in person.

OK, here are my first couple of attempts at my own stencil pieces. What do you reckon? Don't be too cruel, eh?

First one is 50cmx40cm.

Second is 100cmx30cm.

Mark - To reiterate Soapy, good clean and crisp lines in the second, and I'm getting Resevoir Dogs in the first? Good effort lad!
