If you're looking at a pair of last year's, is it worth getting the lace-ups over the velcro for the heel? I just got these shiny new galileos, but I'm a sucker for a discount ;)

Any shoe that fits well will work well on anything. It's not like Windows.

anasazi are to be used on the blue and white circuit at cuvier.
hueco calls for V10.
boux and ceuse for testarossa.
castle hill need some local-custom-made downunder shoe.

its just like cars: i change my tires every new road i take. ;)

some boots are better suited to certain rock types though. Anasazis are quite pointy and reasonably stiff (when new) so work well on small limestone pockets and edges. When you get an old pair however they can be nicely softened up to work well on the grit. But personally, I think V10's are a great choice on grit (unless you require a heel).

You can do them separately though of course.

lets be honest, it's gonna take more than the threat of dense's choad to get me up any 8a's, even in the land of magic grades.
