Chew Valley boulders

Hello,
anyone know if a new topo has been or is being put together for the Chew boulders. No doubt there's been loads of new development since the 1988 guide book..Cheers Phil D

I vaguely remember a really impressive arete on a big block down the slope under Ravenstones in the Chew - does anyone know if its been done? Can't really remember if its sort of highball or full on route

Yep I know the arete in question, also do not know if it has been done..No mention of it being done on Rockfax or in new route book at Braithwaites in Oldham..I'm back home for 3 weeks in June with the aim of getting some projects ticked before the new guide book goes to print in 2007.
The arete is definatly highball territory and if my memory serves me right the landing is none too sweet!

ive tried it actually, an old miles gibson project, well nails, about e8/9 and font 7c+, well too hard for me, good climbing up the wall then the arete via some small dishes and painful gritstone rashes

Hhm, too hard for me as well then. Miles, Gibson and Project are not three words that go together well in terms of inspiring optimism. Oh well.

E8/9, Font 7c+..thats me out, maybe next time round if I can get myself reincarnated as a gecko, piece of lichen or Miles Gibson himself..Nice line for someone though!

i asked miles and he said he had tried it, and it is amaxing, about font 8a, with a platform you could land on, but with a rolling slope immiedatly behind the platform.
