Soft stuff beta-sting nettle
May 09, 2008, 08:15:11 am
a quick technical question for lovers of the soft stuff

where exactly does stinging nettle start?

from the right as in

or the left as in

or are both equally viable??

Think it's the right version, only been there once with no guide. Did right version as seemed most logical. (also it's where the nettles were so that was a clue)

Like so many things on Southern Sandstone I was going on the classic "my mate reckons...." for advice. Both do seem viable though, left start looks good! Sorry if this doesn't add much!

I've done the left version which I thought was the problem, but this was about 6 years ago, and not too long after it was done I think??? I can't remember the grade, but it felt hard back then, whatever that means. NeilH will probably remember if he sees this thread, I think he might have repeated it also, or fallen off a thousand times coming painfully close. Once again, I can't remember.

I did it from the right, sat in the nettles, there are loads of varients, including going up to the mono which I couldnt get my fat fingers in.

But the video of the right start is the official problem, recon about 7a+ for that one, top out the hard bit, long reach needed
