If you had taken that some hours later it would have looked almost identical except that some of the snow beneath Castle Rock would have melted, and I would have been in-situ in the top niche of Picnic wondering what the hell to do with the lichenous slab above the flutings. In the end I downclimbed the whole thing  :roll: .

The Top out of Picnic is quite a challenge, you don't see many people do it but it is a great route.

Next time call down the shop and I'll give you a brew!

You could give me some beta instead! I found the route really nice until that point, and the move cutting loose on the flutings to get bridge across the hole was great, but then....?! Ah well maybe not for me.

I arrived in Nidderdale a bit late for shopping, next time maybe.
