Battlefield Bad Company 2 = The shizzle.

Looks gorgeous, plays even better.
Didn't get utterly spanked online either which makes a pleasant change

Trials HD on XBLA - seriously good fun little game :)

Ha ha! Was playing this at my mate's place over the weekend - agree it's a great game, *just* frustrating enough to keep you coming back!

In fact, am thinking about taking the plunge and upgrading my PS2 and getting an XBox...take it the "Elite" package is the one to get as it's 180 sheets and comes with more storage?

Yeah, Elite is the one to have, also has an HDMI port which the normal one doesn't have.

Still loving BC2 here - fucking awesome online - tense games that reward teamwork over personal KDR.

Nice one - that's the route I'm going down, doubt I've got the time to divert to getting *really* into games like I used to, but would like to have a go at GTA IV, Forza, Tekken 6 et al...

Anyone got Red Dead Redemption yet?

The Observer's film critic Philip French (aged 74) was raving about it yesterday and the Amazon reviews are all glowing.

It's basically GTA re-skinned so I don't think I'll bother. A GTA re-skin isn't a bad thing, I'm just a bit bored by GTA, even if it is set in the Wild West!

Still playing BC2 a lot, and the upcoming Onslaught Mode sounds good fun so that'll keep me busy for a while.

Yes, but be aware that it is identical to GTA, just re-skinned to a Western theme instead of urban gangsters. Underneath it is the same game engine.

So if you didn't like GTA, it's unlikely that you'll like RDR unless you're some Western freak or something :)

I picked RDR for the PS3 the other day and I've gotta say that I love it.
Theres something great about just pegging it around on your horse, and exploring the countryside and its the first the first game thats ever actually made me feel bad about my actions (apart from the Hercules face smashing bit in GOW3).  I like the way the honour system works and how past actions come back to haunt you later on.

The graphics and sound are fantastic and there is just so much depth to the game, with so many things you can do depending on what you feel like- even if you just want to play poker for hours you can. I like the combat system which which is is kind of Gears of Waresque in its cover based shooting and its easy to pick up.  Theres nothing like riding into town with your first 'live' bounty after a big shoot out with his boys and you've lassoed and hog tied him and chucked him on your horse. Defo my fav game in a long time and well worth the spend.

been having massive amounts of childish fun with RPG and danger close on the new (resurgence?) levels released last week for MW2. more variety than the previous upgrade between the maps - trailer park in particular is good fun. there's a classic 'doom' style corridors one as well which is v frantic.

Having had a drunken gaming session at a mate's place last week, I got myself Blur last weekend...excellent driving game.

It's in no way as in-depth as Turismo, think more Need For Speed crossed with Wipeout. You basically compete in a bunch of races in various cars, but with powerups in the ilk of the aforementioned Wipeout - rockets, mines, boost etc etc.

It's great fun, definitely works as a pick up and play arcade racer - looking forward to getting some mates round for multiplayer races soon.

Am currently tearing my hair out playing Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure
a very old school platform outing
not sure if I'm enjoying it as such but it certainly is a challenge
anyone else played it?
if not it's a real recomendation for those who like simple platforms  (and tetris)

PS3 Cracked?

Lose the question mark and click on the linked article 'Digital Foundry vs. PSJailbreak'.

Digital Foundry vs. PSJailbreak'.

I expect Sony will release something to block this or kick hacked machines of their network(s) at the very least.

Well Reach is in my 360 - hope it's better than the (rather iffy imho) beta.

I await your response and I'm wondering if a trade in of BC2 and MW2 both of which don't get that much attention these days might just cover it?

any thoughts on the next MW?

I've seen the stuff all over the web... seems more balanced... basically same engine...

All I know is its going to cost me when I trade it in  ;D, I definitely settled into BC2 more than MW2 in the end but then again I end up enjoying online stuff more than campaign mode.

First impressions of Halo Reach are a bit mixed.

Visually great
Horde mode equivalent is good (would be better in a group online but currently the servers are down).
MP maps are a bit uninspired
Weapons seem good (the pistol coming back into play more like the original)
Jetpacks - Hmmm
Being able to customize your spartan; Monetizing gimmick. Why on earth would you want to pay for a game, pay for an online subscription and then (if you don't have enough points) pay for a virtual helmet for your spartan?
