Bubba where is the sensitivity setting for the controllers on Halo 3? can't seem to find it.

press start button for settings, then go right with left stick into settings tab, then controller settings, then "look sensitivity" - i use 3 but 4 would be ok too.

Also consider switching the control scheme to Bumper Jumper - gives you more control over your aim whilst leaping about trying to pop people in the noggin.

Bumper Jumper puts jump and melee on the back bumper buttons - it just means you never have to remove a finger from the right stick whilst in combat...

I know what you mean - i changed after about 2 months play; it took a few confusing days until i got used to it but has been fine since. Don't worry, it's not a huge difference, it just means you can still turn whilst firing which can be really useful.

Been really enjoying Tomb Raider Anniversary over the weekend. It's a multi-platform release, ie ps2/wii/psp/360/pc  but curiously no PS3 version as far as i can tell.

It's basically a remake of the very first TR game and fans of the series will recognise many parts of it. But it plays great and looks pretty good, though not exactly next-gen on the 360.

It's a nice stop-gap until the real next gen version of TR, Underworld is released later this year and it only costs £20 too :)

Has anyone felt the need to buy any additional cooling stuff for their 360? i've just been reading horror stories and although MS have accepted liability for the issue i'm happy to pay a little extra to avoid the hassle (although some attatchments look useless).

told you to get  a ps3!!

seriously, bubba will know.. for what it's worth everyone I know who has a 360 (with the exception of bubs) has had 1,2 or even 3 send off to get fixed type events. this cant be doing bill gate's fortune much good - i heard he got demoted 1 point in the worlds richest list today... shame.

looks like MS make their hardware about as well as their software IMO

My 360 had to go back before Christmas after suffering the dreaded 4 rings of death - it was from the so-called 'dodgy' batch of late 2006 though.  To be fair to Microsoft they sent me a new console and ported over the hard disk contents and settings so it was basically plug in and go. They must have lost millions in revenue and profit though given they were also paying UPS to pick up and deliver for free and they've extended the warranty for three years.

MS rushed the initial consoles out and many suffered failure. The new ones are ok. They probably did waste a lot of money on returns/repairs but who cares when they effectively won the console war and established the 360 on the market at a reasonable price.

Until recently, unless you were a fan of the PS3 only titles like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, etc there was little logic to buying a PS3 over a 360. In fact the only people I know who've bought one are Fatboyslimfast/Fatdoc and one guy at work whereas I know about 50 people who bought one or more 360s.

But now that HD-DVD is dead in the water buying a PS3 makes a little more sense coz you get a cheap Blu-ray player. If that's no use to you then i still can't see any point in buying one over a 360 - the 360 has more games, a better and much busier online gaming network, and is much cheaper even after you've added in the cost of a live subscription.

Does a 360 do all the other shit that you can use a PS3 for? Like accessing your PC so you can watch films / listen to music through it etc? I'm a total dunce with stuff like this but my mate in Edinburgh was showing me his setup with a PS3 and it worked really well.

TBH i think the ps3 is the *media hub* one to go for, esp if you want blu ray... i admitt with hdmi and a HDTV it looks cool, not a £5 at least more to buy for each film though IMO.

Bubs has fair points on the ps3, which has not been in the market nearly as long as the xbox. the online gaming on the ps3 is fine, busy busy busy.. and free!

basically, the xbox is made by MS, they are all c8nts and i'm not buying anything off them is there is an alternative. I still get to play all the games i'm interested in, so it was a pretty easy choice for me!

Yes, especially if you use Shista :)  I did it when it first came out using XP and it was a bit fiddly but I believe support is better now.

I'm sure Sony are all sweetness and light. Do many big corporations get big by being nice to competitors?

I'm not an MS fanboy by any means but when I see what Billy boy has done with the  Gates Foundation it makes me realise that he's actually a bit of a hero.

I like the way he doesn't go on about how much he does for charity, like other celebs do. Kind of shits on Bonno and Geldoph's contributions!

does anyone else experience halo rage whereby your emotions become entirely controlled by your plus or minus kill score

A little, yes.

I'm currently sucking at Team Doubles and it's depressing. Some days i play good and some days I suck balls. I've dropped from a 44 to a 38 in doubles this week  :boohoo:

Whilst we're on H3, check out this very cool in-game screenshot panorama stitch-up: http://timcrowson.smugmug.com/photos/251871853_49C9X-O.jpg

And here's a little warning about playing too much Halo 3

Aye, it is pretty depressing sometimes - I just report all racists after the game; i've given up trying to talk sense to them. Enough reports and people get banned. I also report all racist gamertags and use the "avoid player" feature so i don't have to play with them again.
