Almscliffe Problems
November 03, 2005, 08:44:27 am
A fair few new problems have been done in the last few weeks; here is the round up:

Matt Meets Buffy 7c+ - From the start of matts roof move out and right into Buffy wants daddy - F.A. Tom Peckitt
Fette Mopse Extension 7c - From to finishing jug, traverse the thin break left to un undercut, then top out - Tom Peckitt
Stretch Armstrong 7c/7c+ - The left hand side of the sewer rat roof, undercutting out to pockets and up the wall. Probably a grade harder for the short - Tom Peckitt

Andy swann has also done the real keel without the block at the back - 8a?

I dont know what you are talking about - it is a fully independant LINE if ever i saw one

It is well hard though, with a devious technical sequence (no really)

I should point out that Fette Mopse is actually called "Underhand". It was named Fette Mopse by Stewart Watson, who didn't realise that it had already been climbed by Tim Clifford.

Update:

Yesterday Tom climbed the obvious roof between sewer rat and stretch armstrong at 8a - no name as yet.
I had a quick look at this and it looks fully hard.

Where are all of these problems? Not that I'll ever be good enough to do more than look at the holds.  Is sewer-rat roof the undercut LHS (when with back to the road) of the Virgin?   On a related topic are any of the "Projects" listed in the YGB guide as yet undone?  Do any of them still receive attention? Somebody told me that the two on the front of the Virgin fell to Matt Birch (Cherry Falls V13ish?!) and Gaskins... any others?

The sit down into Gaskin's problem without using the block, i think that's in the book as a project isn't it? The wall left of Secret Seventh at Caley.

yes, it is. Fette Mopse/underhand is the right arete of the large roof just behind the virgin boulder, from a sitting start and Buffy wants daddy is on the right hand side of matts roof.
