If you mean Shane McConkey, then yes he did die. He couldn't get his skis off on a jump in the Dolomites and by the time he'd ditched them he was too close to the ground for the wingsuit or parachute. It wasn't during the filming of that film though.

That clip is from the MSP film, Seven Sunny Days, which has a "re-creation" of the opening scenes of The Spy Who Loved Me with McConkey playing Bond. Great stuff!
