Just watched Standard Films' Paradox



It's up to their usual quality with breathtaking footage from the worlds best snow spots.

Some stuff is just outrageous and I'm amazed people like Jeremy Jones are still alive.

Also on the DVD are some nice extras including commentary on some of the great descents they've filmed over the years. I'd forgotten how mental Tom Burt's descent of Cordova Peak was so good to see that again.

There's a lot of history in there which is interesting and though it is a bit stilton in places there's some killer Alaska riding footage, some of it really scary.

But the best thing is you get a lot of Terje, the king of style.

Above a certain height , very few actually "stick" the landings, as they are usually done over very soft snow, and often have to be excavated from the crater. One guy disappeared so deep he actually suffocated and died.
