Slide Scanning Service
(1/1)
unclesomebody:
I'm looking for a slide scanning service that I can get all my slides done at. I would like it to be as cheap as possible, but require decent resolutions and colour depth. I've tried searching google but it's rather fruitless... I've seen prices from 50p to £5 an image. All in all I'd probably want 150 slides scanned, but if this is going to prove too costly then I'll be rather more selective.
The other option is a slide scanner... any recommendations?
thanks
SA Chris:
For 150 it's probably worth buying as scanner, if you have the time. I have about 1000, but can't afford a scanner at the moment, as I have just got a digital SLR, and the home PC needs an upgrade first.
Have a look in the back of Practical Photography, there are loads of places offering services.
Johnny Brown:
Get a second hand slide scanner off ebay. £200 quid ish should get you a decent one - Nikon Coolscan IV highly recommended. Make sure it has ICE - senses any dust and ignores it, otherwise you'll spend yo hole life cloning it out.
...or I'll do em for £1 a hit.
